Reasons to Put Effort Into the Book Cover Design

Before people get as far as considering the contents of a book they first need to be drawn in by the book cover design. Once people have been attracted to a book, they will pick it up and perhaps have a look at what’s inside. The only way to get them to the important step of actually looking at the book carefully is to have a good cover that attracts the attention of the people who you hope will read your book. The cover also has to be relevant to the topic and the genre. It cannot be so abstract that your target audience is no longer able to relate to it and it cannot be so overdone and cliched that they will put the book aside in disgust. Consequently your book cover design requires some effort.
